Exercising in water enables a greater variety of movements for children who have difficulty moving on land, and more importantly, it's really FUN!
Our Paediatric Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists offer 1:1 Hydrotherapy sessions in the morning and afternoon at PARC (Peninsula Aquatic and Recreation Centre) in Frankston as part of our early intervention services.
Hydrotherapy is great for:
Babies with low and high tone
Children with developmental delays
Children needing 1:1 support in learning to swim
Children with strength deficits
Management of pain
Chronic Fatigue
Balance issues
The thermal effects of the water can:
Relieve muscle tone; loosen and relax tight muscles
Influence the release of stress hormones to improve digestion and blood flow
Enhance blood circulation
Relieve pain
Desensitize the nervous system to touch and pressure
Improve core strength and postural control
Allow children to work across gravity to strengthen their muscles
Please Note:
Similar to other swimming programs, we offer Hydrotherapy on a term by term basis (there are no sessions during the final week of the school term or during the school holidays).
You are required to book and pay for the entire term. There will be no amounts refunded for missed sessions and we have limited availability for make up sessions.
